The best way to calulate the size of the system you need is to get your yearly average on KW hours used. For example if your home averaged 850kWh per month, you would take the 850 / 30 Days per month = 28kWh Per Day. In the midwest we get approx 4.5 hours of peak sun per day so we would take that 28kWh / 4.5 Hours sun = 6.22KW Array. We would recommend at a min, 6 KW Solar System for that application.
This can be difficult to calulate because you have no Power Usage yet. The good news is we can help you calulate that power usage based on what applicances you are planning on installing. Give us a call or email us. We have years of experience in putting offgrid solar on new construction projects.
Ozark Mountain Offgrid can provide a Permit Pack to you based on your location. This permit pack will have 1 line diagram, Property Plan, Site Plan, String Map, and etc.
Yes, absolutely. Any of our packages that include Sol-Ark as the Inverter for the package can run without a Battery attached. You can add a 48v battery system to those systems at anytime. Lots of folks will like to test out the waters first with grid backup optional until they feel confortable disconnecting Grid-power. Give us a call and we can talk in more detail on this!
Unfortunately, we get this question often. The good news is yes we can help. If you can just add a battery backup will depend on the system you have installed. Most of those grid-tied setups from the bigbox retailers will not be capable of battery backup without a different inverter setup. Give us a call and we can help guide you in the right direction to get you offgrid or at least with a battery backup!
